KP Quarter horses if commited to giving you the finest quality lessons and training available. There are a few girls who are well educated, often giving lessons to younger children and newer riders, while advanced riders always recieve lessons from Kris.

Kris graduated from Pacific Horse Center in Sacramento, CA and has also attended Findlay College. She has been teaching since ____. She has accomplished much in her career including, _____________________, and sending two students to the 2008 AQHYA worlds this past year in Showmanship, having one of her students be sent on to semi finals (as viewed on the Winners page). Kris has also trained many horses including Hottroddin Novel Te (AQHA ROM in Reining, & NRHA in 1991 limited derby winner in St Paul MI)and Sundown Sir Dawn (AQHA Champion Hunter Under Saddle). She began training performance and breeding horses in Texas, with Chown Quarter Horses.

Lessons

Lessons are $35 for lessons, but require an additional $15 for trailering in your own horse (a total of $50).
Lessons are one hour, only private, individual lessons are given so more attention is given to the student. Lessons can also be ridden english or western, and trail; although Kris specializes in horsemanship and showmanship.

  • Rules: Lessons are given to anyone 4 years old and older, and children under 18 are required to wear helmets.

  • Practice rides: Practice rides are avaliable for people with out their own horse, there can only be one in between each lesson and are $20
  • Half Leasing: leasing covers the cost of _____________ and ___________. Leasers can be out 3 days a week, although the days must be scheduled. Horses owned privately can be leased through Lazy P or through their own private contracts in which payments and rules are left to be decided between the owners and leasers.

    Training

    Training is $350 per month for one horse. The horse is worked ____ days a week and when good is rewarded with play time in the outdoor arena for several hours.

    Showing

    KP quarter horses competes competativily in Quarter Horse shows. A list of shows to be attended this year will be up soon.

    Shows usually range around $500 to $700 not including fees paid to AQHA (i.e. bedding, entrance fees etc.) Show fees include:

  • Trailering fees
  • Trainer fees ($35 per day)
  • Tack stall fee
  • banding (if banded by Kris)
  • Clipping
  • etc.
